4 months ago: Listening to a bunch of college students nod their heads in agreement and saying “it makes sense” to the argument that it might be a good idea to not provide treatment for soldiers with PTSD “because it makes us more aware of the damage of war and makes it more likely for us not to engage in it”. It’s so ridiculous because those same kids would be in uproar if someone said something like we shouldn’t offer contraception to women. If you are arguing about the economic consequences of giving such treatment, I assure you the government can and should pay for that, of all things. More likely, you are thinking about about all the damage having a child causes, both to women, and society at large, and that the damage of war is way more than that. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying women should not be given full access to contraception, but I guarantee the trauma of having a child, both to a woman and society, is not as traumatic as PTSD, which is the definition of trauma. Ever heard of rape, murder, domestic violence? Shit like that? Yeah, bitches! PTSD can cause those too, you know! Just watch the point of all your gun control laws go up in smoke with that. Knives, shanks, garrottes galore!

Just because you can’t get the government to end wars like you want does not mean you should support intentionally insidious measures like this shit. Grow up!

You know what the funny thing is? The argument itself isn’t what’s making me mad here. It’s the sheer amount of hypocritical shit flying in my face right now. You sound just like the worst of your opponents right now. On top of that, this brings up all kinds of issues like unions, OSHA, worker’s rights, and all sorts of things “liberals” have provided us with. I could write a novel.

How dare you call yourselves liberals. Even Republicans, who hate “bleeding-heart liberals”, would be okay with the idea of treating soldiers for PTSD.

How dare you deny someone a chance to feel better and cause their friends, family, even society and the government to suffer and potentially die just to push a political agenda. You could potentially justify denying them paid-for therapy on financial grounds, or the grounds of not being responsible for such harm (not that I think that is okay either), whatever. But how dare you try to justify such a measure in the name of “raising awareness”!
